A very scary experience I have to say! But such a relief to have passed.

Since the last entry I have been working on a very heavy set of animated presentations for a conference in Torino, Italy taking place in May 09 relating to sustainability. very tight deadlines has meant working all the hours I could fit in...

Next up is an exciting 8 second animated logo treatment for a computer gaming website, which can be placed at the start of all their media content.

The GreenGuru project is still ongoing and evolving into something completely different. More on this topic when I've completed the work.

Broadcast Video Expo 2009

Hey,

I visited the broadcast video expo at earls court on Wednesday the 18th and spent the day exploring the huge array of stands and seminars. Stands that really caught my eye were NewTek showing off the TriCaster portable studio kit and of course Adobe, who gave a constant stream of demos and talks from there stand.
I left feeling this is such an exciting industry to be in now more than ever! The advent of the Internet and how this medium in evolving is going to have profound and long term effects on the furture of broadcast! Or, was it that the Brits2009, as it was being hosted at ealrs court that evening. I walked out to be caught by a large crowd and photographers flashes zapping all over the place! Mad...

Well, work is progressing on the GreenGuru project. here is a short example of the logo animation.

Next big item this month is attending Northampton School for Girls to give a 2 hour talk on video filming techniques. I've filmed a three minute video showing Northampton during the snow to use as an example, I have posted this video up on the main sites video panel, just click the Demo 2008 button.

Also, I'm studying for my associate membership to the Institue of Videography. Hope to take the exam this week!

Thats all for now, will report back when I have a GreenGuru demo!!!

P

New Website and an Upgrade!!!

Hey! Well, 2009 has been very busy and a landmark year so far!
I decided it was time to bite the bullet and upgrade the hardware used for editing and animation. With help from XWORKS I now run on a meaty workstation running Windows XP64! I had no idea computing had evolved so much! Working on this new workstation has had a dramatic impact on my workflow, easily enabling me to meet my deadlines! Awesome!

My first big project for the year is with Robert Horne Group. I'm working on a set of seven web friendly tutorials and a 90 second video commercial to prompote the 'Green Guru' initiative. Here is an example frame from an animation currently work in propgress:

Also, I'll be attending the BroadCast Video Expo in London for one of it's three days. Looking forward to checking out solid state cameras and attending a few seminars... Especially the Adobe demo's.

There are a further two animation jobs also in production, more details to follow on those later!!

Until the next entry, Ciao for now

Welcome

Welcome to my blog.
